Quantity Surveyor (QS) Role: A Quantity Surveyor manages the costs and contracts of construction projects from start to finish. Their goal is to minimize costs while ensuring that the project meets legal and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Estimating material, labor, and time requirements. Preparing BOQ (Bill of Quantities) . Managing tendering and procurement. Valuation of work done and recommending payments. Cost control and reporting. Contract management and dispute resolution. Finalization of accounts at project close. Skills Required: Cost estimation and budgeting. Contract law knowledge. Analytical and numerical skills. Familiarity with software like AutoCAD, MS Excel, and CostX. 2. Billing Engineer Role: A Billing Engineer focuses on preparing client and subcontractor bills, based on the actual work done at the site. They are crucial in ensuring timely and accurate billing for smooth cash flow. Key Responsibilities: Preparing RA (Running Account) Bills . Measurement and documentation of completed work.
