Job Description

metallurgical testing, quality control for raw materials and finished products, and maintaining test equipment

Key responsibilities

Testing:
Perform quality control tests on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished castings.
Metallurgy:
Apply knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy to assess the quality of metal and castings.
Documentation:
Accurately document and report all test results and findings.
Equipment:
Maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory testing equipment.
Standards:
Ensure products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards.
Implementation:
Develop and implement quality control tests for incoming materials and production processes.
Safety:
Follow and enforce housekeeping, cGMP, GLP, and safety guidelines in the laboratory.

Required skills and experience

Technical knowledge:
Strong understanding of metallurgy, different types of metals, and casting methods.
Quality Control:
Proven experience in foundry quality control and quality assurance.
Testing proficiency:
Familiarity with various lab tests, such as those for chemical composition, mechanical properties, and physical defects.
