Job Description

Develop, implement, and monitor QA/QC plans, procedures, and inspection test plans (ITPs) for CHP projects.
Conduct material inspection, welding inspections (WPS, PQR, WPQ), and structural fabrication quality checks.
Ensure adherence to IS codes, ASTM, ASME, AWS, and project specifications.
Supervise NDT activities (UT, RT, PT, MT) and interpret results as per code requirements.
Monitor erection and commissioning quality of mechanical equipment such as conveyors, crushers, screens, and stacker reclaimers.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for non-conformities (NCRs).
Maintain calibration records of instruments and ensure traceability.
Coordinate with client representatives, third-party inspection agencies, and internal teams for quality compliance.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 QMS standards and prepare quality documentation.
Conduct supplier audits, incoming material inspections, and vendor quality assessment.
Implement welding procedure specifications (WPS) and oversee welder qualification tests.
Review test certificates (MTCs) for raw materials, including plates, beams, pipes, and fasteners.
Prepare method statements, work procedures, and quality control checklists.
Monitor painting, coating, and galvanizing quality as per project specifications.
Ensure proper documentation of QA/QC reports, deviation reports, and test results.

Qualification & Experience:

B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
5-10 years of experience in QA/QC for CHP, material handling, or heavy steel structures
Certifications in NDT Level-II (UT, RT, PT, MT) preferred
Knowledge of ASME, AWS D1.1, IS 2062, IS 800, and ISO 9001 standards
Experience in handling client inspections, audits, and third-party approvals
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and QA/QC software
