QA Tester

Role Overview

The QA Tester will own end-to-end testing for web/mobile/business applications, ensuring high-quality releases through robust test design, execution, and defect management.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse BRDs, user stories, and technical specs; identify test requirements and risks.​
• Design, review, and optimize detailed test scenarios, test cases, and checklists for functional, regression, integration, UI, and UAT testing.​
• Execute manual test cases across web, mobile, and backend flows; log results and defects accurately.​
• Raise, track, and re-test defects using tools like JIRA/Azure DevOps, with clear steps, logs, and severity/priority.​
• Own regression suites and sign-off for releases; ensure no critical issues in production.​
• Perform data validation using SQL queries / DB checks and API validations where relevant.​
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups; provide QA estimates and dependencies.​
• Coordinate and support UAT with business users, track UAT defects, and ensure closure.​
• Prepare and share quality metrics (defect density, test coverage, execution status) with stakeholders.​
• Mentor junior testers in test design, defect reporting, and process adherence; contribute to QA process improvement.​

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3–8 years of hands-on experience in manual testing of web/mobile/enterprise applications.​
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, and testing methodologies (functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, system, UAT).​
• Proficiency with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, Azure DevOps, Zephyr).​
• Good SQL skills for database validation and backend checks.​
• Ability to analyse logs, use browser dev tools, and perform cross-browser/cross-platform testing.​
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to identify edge cases and negative scenarios.​
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear documentation and stakeholder interaction.​

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience in e-commerce / SaaS / ERP / MIS or similar data-heavy applications.​
• Exposure to API testing (Postman, Swagger etc.) and basic understanding of JSON/XML.​
• Basic knowledge of automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) and interest in moving towards hybrid (manual + automation) role.​

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
