QA Tester / Software Tester

Key Responsibilities:

• Test Planning and Design:

• Review project requirements and technical specifications to design and develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
• Identify testing requirements and prepare a clear testing strategy for different types of testing (functional, performance, security, etc.).

• Manual Testing:

• Perform manual testing of software applications to ensure they meet functional and performance expectations.
• Execute test cases, document results, and report defects found during testing.
• Re-test after defects are fixed to ensure that issues have been resolved and no new issues have been introduced.

• Automated Testing:

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts where applicable to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Execute automated tests and analyze results, reporting any failures or discrepancies.

• Defect Identification and Reporting:

• Identify, document, and report defects in the software to the development team in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
• Track the status of defects and work closely with developers to ensure they are fixed appropriately.

• Collaboration:

• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project managers to understand the requirements and functionality of the software being tested.
• Provide feedback on system usability and suggest improvements or enhancements where needed.

• Regression and Performance Testing:

• Perform regression testing to ensure that new features or updates do not negatively impact the existing functionality.
• Conduct performance and load testing to evaluate the scalability and stability of the software under various conditions.

• Documentation and Reporting:

• Document test results, defects, and test coverage accurately.
• Prepare test reports, highlighting any areas of concern, test completion status, and overall software quality.

• Continuous Improvement:

• Contribute to the development of better testing practices, tools, and processes to improve the overall quality assurance process.
• Keep up to date with new testing methodologies and technologies to enhance the testing process.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in manual and/or automated software testing.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Postman).
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and different types of testing (functional, regression, integration, performance, etc.).
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Bugzilla).
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in automated testing (Selenium, Cypress, or similar tools).
