QA QC Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities of a QA/QC Engineer

1. Quality Planning & Implementation

• Develop and implement project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plans.
  
• Ensure that all works are carried out in compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.
  
• Establish inspection and test plans (ITPs) for construction activities.
  

2. Inspection & Testing

• Conduct material and workmanship inspections at all stages of construction.
  
• Coordinate with third-party laboratories for material and field test requirements.
  
• Verify test results and ensure compliance with project specifications and codes.
  

3. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation including inspection reports, test certificates, and material approvals.
  
• Maintain Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action Reports (CARs).
  
• Submit daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports to management and consultants.
  

4. Coordination & Communication

• Liaise with the client, consultant, and project team for inspections and approvals.
  
• Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure quality requirements are met.
  
• Provide technical support to site teams regarding quality standards and procedures.
  

5. Compliance & Standards

• Ensure compliance with relevant codes (IS codes, ASTM, BIS, etc.), safety standards, and client specifications.
  
• Support audits and inspections by client/third-party agencies.
  

6. Continuous Improvement

• Identify recurring quality issues and implement preventive measures.
  
• Conduct training sessions and toolbox talks to improve quality awareness among site teams.
  
• Promote a right first time” approach to minimize rework and delays.
