We are seeking a seasoned Test Automation Architect with deep expertise in Playwright to lead the design and implementation of scalable, robust test automation frameworks. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and reliability of enterprise-grade web applications across diverse domains, including regulated environments such as Life Sciences. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, hands-on technical skills, and a passion for driving automation excellence across agile teams
Key responsibilities
Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks using Playwright for modern web applications.Define and drive the overall automation strategy, ensuring alignment with quality goals and development processes.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA engineers, product managers, and DevOps to integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.Design and maintain reusable test components, utilities, and libraries to support efficient test development.Lead the evaluation and adoption of new tools, technologies, and best practices in test automation.Ensure comprehensive test coverage across functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to QA teams on Playwright usage, automation design patterns, and coding standards.Support testing in regulated environments by aligning automation practices with compliance requirements (e.g., GxP).Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness activities.
Technical skills requirements
12+ years of overall industry experience, with a strong background in software quality assurance and test automation.6+ years of experience in automation testing, including framework design, scripting, and strategy development.4+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright, including advanced scripting in TypeScript.Proven expertise in building and maintaining custom automation frameworks using Playwright.Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, REST APIs) and browser internals.Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or GitLab.Familiarity with test reporting tools (e.g., Allure, ReportPortal) and debugging techniques.Proficient in version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows.Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) for test execution and environment provisioning.Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with sprint-based delivery cycles.Understanding of performance, security, and accessibility testing principles.
Experience in performance testing using JMeter.
Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman or RestAssured.Exposure to regulated domains such as Life Sciences or Healthcare.Basic knowledge of Azure DevOps or other cloud-based DevOps platforms.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related science field or equivalent.
