QA Automation Engineer

The QA Automation Engineer will contribute to the development and enhancement of automation frameworks, improve scripting standards, and accelerate test coverage across our Ecommerce ecosystem. This role involves building robust, scalable test frameworks for UI and API testing while also supporting some manual verification for edge cases. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Java, experienced with multiple automation tools, and ready to mentor junior testers.

Role & responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

• Design, build, and

  enhance automation frameworks

  using Java, Selenium, Appium, and Rest Assured
• Implement

  Page Object Model (POM)

  ,

  BDD using Gherkin

  , and reusable utilities
• Own and expand

  test automation coverage

  for both desktop and mobile platforms
• Execute

  API automation

  using

  Rest Assured

  or

  Karate

• Contribute to

  Functional testing efforts

  for exploratory and new feature validation
• Participate in

  Agile ceremonies

  , story grooming, and test planning
• Collaborate with DevOps and QA lead to integrate automation into

  CI/CD pipelines

• Collaborate with the QA lead/onsite automation engineer to expand automation coverage
• Use tools such as

  Jenkins

  Git

  TestNG/JUnit

  to drive automation
• Ensure code quality and maintainability across automation assets
• Monitor and analyze automation test results and report key metrics
• Participate in

  shift-right testing strategies

  , post-deployment validation, and monitoring
• Guide and support junior QA team members in automation practices

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline

• 5+ years

  of hands-on experience in test automation
• Strong command of

  Java

  , object-oriented programming, and scripting principles
• Proven experience with:

• Selenium WebDriver

  Rest Assured

  ,

• BDD tools

  (Cucumber or equivalent) and

  Gherkin

• Automation frameworks
