QA Automation Engineer -Backend (Pytest)

Photon Interactive Private Limited is excited to offer excellent opportunities for QA Automation Backend Testing (Pytest) and to join our team at our office located in DLF, Manapakkam, Chennai.

Job Summary:

QA Automation Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop automated test scripts using

  Pytest

  for RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend systems.
• Build and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable test frameworks and tools.
  
• Work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams to understand backend architecture and testing requirements.
  
• Identify, log, and track bugs through their life cycle using tools like Jira or similar.
  
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  
• Conduct performance and load testing using appropriate tools (e.g., Locust, JMeter, etc.).
  
• Ensure test environments are properly configured and managed.
  
• Contribute to improving test strategy, processes, and overall product quality.
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in QA automation with a focus on

  backend testing

  .
• Strong expertise in

  Python

  and

  Pytest

  framework.
• Proficient in testing RESTful APIs, including authentication, headers, status codes, payloads, etc.
  
• Experience with tools like

  Postman

  ,

  Curl

  , or

  Swagger

  for manual API testing.
• Familiar with

  JSON

  ,

  XML

  , and data validation.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  
• Experience with mocking/stubbing tools and techniques for backend systems.
  
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) for test data setup and verification.
  
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  
• Knowledge of performance/load testing tools (Locust, JMeter).
  
• ISTQB or other QA certifications (optional but beneficial).
