Job Description

Job Profile: Functional Safety Manager (Based on ISO 25119)

We are seeking an experienced Functional Safety Manager to oversee projects adhering to ISO 25119 standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the products developed, manufactured, or marketed meet the applicable safety standards (inc. state of the art) throughout the product development lifecycle. This position will involve collaboration with cross functional teams and require a deep understanding of agriculture safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management:

  • Support functional safety activities within projects according to ISO 25119 standards.
  • Create, update, and check the fulfilment of the functional safety plan in accordance with the project plan
  • Conduct regular project reviews and report on deviations.

2. Safety Lifecycle Management:

  • Facilitate creation of Hazard Analyses and Risk Assessment (HARA) and Fault-Tree Analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with the functional safety lifecycle stages (CLAAS milestone process).

3. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including Safety Plan and Safety Compliance Reports.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders on project progress and safety status.

4. Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Work closely with engineering, testing, and product quality manager to ensure safety requirements are integrated throughout the development process.
  • Facilitate communication between teams to address any safety related issues.

Competency Profile:

  • Technical Knowledge:

    In-depth understanding of ISO 25119, ISO 26262, and related agriculture safety standards.
  • Analytical Skills:

    Strong capability in risk assessment and safety analysis methods.
  • Project Management:

    Proven experience managing complex projects with strong organizational skills.
  • Development Process:

    In-depth understanding of development processes and their interdependencies in regard to product maturity and process maturity.
  • Communication:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex safety concepts clearly; willingness to communicate deviations openly.
  • Team Collaboration:

    Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work within cross-functional teams.
  • Problem-Solving:

    Ability to identify problems, analyze potential solutions, and implement corrective actions effectively.
  • Resilience and Assertiveness:

    Ability to deal with conflicts; ability to lead controversial discussions with members of all hierarchy levels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Software, or a related field).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in functional safety management within an agriculture, automotive or related industry.
  • Certification in functional safety (e.g., TV, KTA) is a plus.
  • Experience with safety management tools and methodologies (e.g. fault-tree analysis with FaultTree+).
  • Experience with requirements engineering tools and methodologies (e.g. Polarion)
