Python-AWS Software Developer

Key Skills & Experience

• Backend Development: Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience in one or more frameworks Flask, FastAPI, or Django.

• Cloud Expertise: Practical experience with key AWS services including Lambda, EC2, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, Glue, Step Functions (SFN), CloudWatch, IAM, VPC, WAF, Secrets Manager, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, KMS, and CloudTrail.

• Exposure to Data & Analytics Tools: OpenSearch or similar.

• Infrastructure as Code: Hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation for automation and provisioning.

• Monitoring & Observability: Experience with tools like Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch, Grafana, X-Ray for application health, logging, and performance tracking.

• CI/CD & DevOps: Experience with CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar, along with Git-based workflows.

• Testing & Quality: Hands-on experience with unit testing, integration testing, and automated testing frameworks such as PyTest or Unittest, and a strong focus on delivering high-quality, production-ready code.

• Orchestration & Automation: Exposure to workflow schedulers like Airflow or Autosys, and AWS Step Functions for workflow orchestration. • Legacy Technologies (Preferred): Exposure to Perl, Autosys, or Informatica will be considered a significant plus.

Other Must-Haves:

o Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and collaborative development practices.

o Exposure to Linux, scripting, and SQL.

o Experience with security best practices (IAM, encryption, secrets, network security).

o Familiarity with API security, traffic management, and microservices architecture.

o Experience with Copilot or GenAI platforms is a plus.

o AWS Certification (Associate level or above) is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and microservices using Python and AWS.

• Build secure, scalable, and high-availability architectures on AWS following best practices.

• Automate infrastructure and deployments using IaC tools and contribute to robust CI/CD pipelines.

• Implement and manage testing strategies, monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to ensure application quality and reliability.

• Develop event-driven workflows and integrate with messaging and orchestration services like Step Functions, EventBridge, and SQS/SNS. • Ensure strong security, networking, and compliance practices, including IAM policies, VPC design, and WAF configuration.

• Modernize and migrate legacy on-premises applications and workflows — including those built with Perl, Autosys, and Informatica — to cloud-native architectures on AWS.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment, participate in code reviews, and contribute to engineering best practices.

• Document technical solutions, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guides.
