Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and tested code
• Expand and optimize BusPatrol’s suite of Python and Ruby-based web services
• Modernize deprecated legacy systems into secure, scalable APIs
• Collaborate closely with the product team to deliver quality features
• Champion best engineering practices including CI/CD, code reviews, and pair programming
• Keep up with evolving technologies and integrate them when relevant
• Work with AWS Serverless services and infrastructure
• Contribute to an inclusive team culture and agile environment

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience, with

  3+ years in Python

• Experience with

  web frameworks

  like Django, Rails, or Rack (3+ years)
• Strong exposure to

  AWS Services

  like Lambda, SQS, and S3
• Hands-on with

  JavaScript frameworks

  (React / Angular / Vue.js – at least 1 year)
• Comfortable with

  relational databases

  (PostgreSQL / MySQL)
• Practical experience with

  Docker

  ,

  Git

  , and

  containerized environments

• Exposure to

  Linters

  (e.g., RuboCop, Flake8, ESLint)
• Solid understanding of front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
• Experience with

  testing libraries

  (e.g., RSpec, PyTest, Jest)

💡 Good to Have:

• 1+ year of Ruby development experience (preferred but not mandatory)
• Experience in a product-driven tech company is a strong advantage
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
