Engineer - Purchase

Key Responsibilities:

• Sourcing and Selection:

  Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for materials and components required for engineering processes. Assess their capabilities and reliability.

• Negotiation:

  Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure favorable agreements that meet project requirements and budget constraints.

• Purchase Order Management:

  Create, issue, and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of materials and components according to project timelines.

• Technical Collaboration:

  Work closely with engineering and design teams to understand project requirements and specifications for purchased items.

• Quality Assurance:

  Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that purchased materials meet required standards and specifications before acceptance.

• Market Research:

  Stay informed about market trends, supplier capabilities, and innovations in materials and components to make informed purchasing decisions.

• Cost Control:

  Monitor procurement costs and provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.

• Supplier Relationship Management:

  Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure continued collaboration and support.

• Reporting:

  Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory levels, to share with management.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.) or a related field.

• Experience:

  Minimum of [X] years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the engineering industry.
• Previous experience in technical purchasing or direct procurement role is highly desirable.
