Purchase Executive

Department:

1. Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Executive to manage procurement activities, vendor development, price negotiations, purchase orders, and material delivery to ensure timely availability of materials at competitive prices.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial terms.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements.
• Coordinate with production, stores, accounts, design, and other departments.
• Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, engineering components, consumables, and other required items.
• Follow up with vendors for order confirmation and timely material delivery.
• Maintain vendor databases, purchase records, quotations, and procurement documentation.
• Monitor material quality and coordinate with the quality team for rejection or replacement.
• Track pending orders, delivery schedules, and procurement costs.
• Support cost-reduction initiatives and alternative vendor development.
• Verify invoices, delivery challans, and purchase orders in coordination with the accounts team.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and approval procedures.

3. Required Skills

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Vendor management and supplier development.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and inventory control.
• Good analytical and commercial skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
• Ability to manage multiple purchase orders and deadlines.
• Knowledge of engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications is an advantage.

5. Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates with experience in manufacturing, engineering, industrial equipment, or mechanical components procurement will be preferred.
