Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities Manage procurement activities for electrical and instrumentation items, ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment. Coordinate with vendors to negotiate prices, resolve issues, and improve supply chain efficiency. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sources of high-quality products. Conduct market research to identify new opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate purchasing decisions into overall project plans. End-to-end procurement of: 1.Electrical items: cables, circuit breakers, relays, contactors, MCBs, transformers, busbars, enclosures, etc. 2.Instrumentation items: sensors, transmitters, indicators, field instruments, signal isolators, terminal blocks, etc. 3.Mechanical hardware: panel accessories, gland plates, hinges, channel supports, cooling systems (fans/vents), etc. Issue RFQs, prepare comparative statements, and negotiate with vendors to ensure best price, quality, and delivery Coordinate with the design/engineering team to understand BOMs, SLDs, panel layouts, and technical specs Place purchase orders and track delivery schedules for multiple concurrent projects Identify and develop new vendors for cost reduction and alternate sourcing Liaise with QC and stores for incoming inspection, rejection, and material reconciliation Maintain procurement records, update ERP systems, and generate reports for procurement status tracking Ensure on-time material availability to avoid production delays Ensure procurement complies with relevant IS/IEC standards, project specifications, and internal quality systems Candidate Profile Good understanding of Electrical components (switchgear, w)iring accessories, control devices), Instrumentation items: (transmitters, controllers, panel meters, signal converters) and Mechanical hardware: (panel fabrication and assembly accessories) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, BOMs, datasheets, and wiring diagrams Proficiency in ERP software (e.g., Tally, SAP, or custom systems) and MS Excel Exposure to panel manufacturing, switchgear components, and field instrumentation preferred Exposure to project-based procurement and vendor development Ability to read and understand technical datasheets and project specifications Knowledge of local and global supplier markets Strong negotiation and communication skills Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask Ability to work collaboratively across departments Strong sense of ownership and time management
