The DAV Group - Chennai, functioning under the aegis of Tamil Nadu Arya Samaj Educational Society was established in 1970 at Gopalapuram in Chennai with just 50 students. The Group today, caters to over 40,000 students across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. It has a staff of 1500 plus which includes 1,200 teachers. Four of our branches have been consistently ranked amongst top 15 schools in the country.

In addition to K-12 schooling, DAV has recently ventured into Higher Education with DAV-SMK Fomra College of Arts & Science at Kelambakkam, Chennai.

In this context, we would be interested in recruiting suitable candidates for the position of PRT Tamil teacher for primary classes (Grades 1 to 5). The teacher will help young children build basic Tamil language skills — reading, writing, listening and speaking — foster interest in the Tamil language and literature, and support their overall language development at the foundational level.

Roles & Responsibilities

Plan and deliver simple, age‑appropriate Tamil lessons (reading, writing, grammar, listening, speaking) for Classes 1–5.
Use child‑friendly methods — stories, songs, games or activities — to make learning engaging and fun.
Assign classwork or exercises; monitor progress and provide support to those who need extra help.
Maintain records of attendance, progress, and language development.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, disciplined and friendly classroom environment.
Encourage reading habits, basic writing, storytelling, recitations and simple literary activities to foster love for Tamil.
