Prototype Development- Sheet Metal

Role Overview: As a Sheet Metal Prototype Parts Developer, your main responsibility will be to develop sheet metal prototype parts while ensuring the desired quality as required by the designer. You will also be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of parts according to the project schedule. Your role will involve target costing of sheet metal parts/dies and welding fixtures, as well as cost negotiation with suppliers. Additionally, you will need to study design data/drawings for part development and have knowledge of various stamping tools and sheet metal manufacturing processes, including manufacturing high tensile material stamping. Your expertise in sheet metal raw materials, automotive welding technology, and other manufacturing processes like painting, powder coating, and plating will be essential. You will also be responsible for part inspection, identifying quality issues, and implementing appropriate countermeasures. Cost estimation of sheet metal parts, sourcing, and part development will be part of your daily tasks, along with project management, execution, and monitoring. Quality control of prototype products according to design standards and knowledge of quality management systems like ISO/TS are also required. Good communication skills are essential for interacting with both internal and external customers.
