Key Responsibilities & Authorities
Responsibilities
- Ensure a good understanding of entire set of tender documents including BOQ, Specification documents, terms and conditions etc. As a result, have an understanding of the scope of entire project in detail.
- Prepare a working budget. - Finalise and communicate all project requirements (resources) to relevant stakeholders. - Prepare and sign-off on the schedule and communicate to all relevant stakeholders. - Set targets and goals for sub-teams. - Identification of potential risks from internal and external perspective. Keep updating risk register and base project decisions with due regards to potential risks.
- Ensure that the deliverables are being met as per planned timelines.
- Identify any addition in scope and get it authorised. - Ensure that all items of execution are being delivered as per specifications and as per quality parameters.
Cost Management:
- Ensuring that the project stays on course with respect to finalised working budget. - Analysing any deviations, taking in-time decisions for course correction. - Forecasting changes to budgets and being prepared for unplanned changes. Schedule Management: - Track project schedule and make sure that the progress is as per decided timelines.
- Take decisions to revise the baseline schedule when necessary and communicate to relevant stakeholders.
Resource Management: - Forecast requirements and changes in requirements of resources. Review project requirements (resources) on an on-going basis. - Procure and allocate resources with help of support functions. - Accommodate changes in scope of timelines and redistribute resources effectively. Output monitoring: - Derive productivity for work and identify benchmarks to evaluate the health and progress of the project. - Evaluate the performance of contractors and team, take necessary decision in form of corrective actions and feedback to relevant persons or department. Process control: - Being the custodian of all processes at project. - Ensuring that the team operates in alignment to defined processes. - Providing support wherever needed to balance process requirements and project demands.
Team management:
- Defining responsibilities across the team and clarifying expectations and deliverables. Delegating work according to responsibilities defined. - Communicating relevant information and decisions to all team members on an on-going basis. Ensuring that team members are also able to communicate with Project Manager. Clarify all expected communications required from team. - Ensuring that all support functions at site carry out their responsibilities as well. Making sure that they can undertake their responsibilities without hindrances. Sub-contractor management: - Clarify scope of work and expectations with respect to deliverables like Time, Quality and Safety. - Ensuring sustainability of sub-contractors from perspective of continuity, commercial rates, and delivered output. Client management: - Identify key milestones & deliverables expected by the client. Maintain effective communication with the clients and keep them upto date with all factors related to the project. - Identify deliverables from clients such as drawings, other subcontractors directly appointed by the client and follow up with the client for the same in weekly meetings. - Timely submit all possible claims and extra items outside the scope of contract to the client. - Follow up with the Clients Purchase and Finance team regarding any ammendments to work orders, payment dues, etc.
Maintain all required documentations as per IMS processes and formats.
Maintain all work progress data along with measurements and quantities.
Maintain labor productivity data for future planning and analysis.
Track and maintain material consumption data for reconciliation purpose.
Coordinate with Safety Dept. for Safety permits from the Client.
Coordinate the closure of the NCs of EHS app. Participate in the investigation of the safety incident, if any, happens at the site.
Prepare HIRA and ERA for various activities to be undertaken from week to week.
Facilitate and ensure the implementation of EHS safeguards with utmost priority. Ensure the participation of entire project team towards EHS initiative.
Approving material issue notes, deployment of labor resources on different work fronts. Delegating responsibilities to Sr. Eng, Jr. Eng, Supervisors, Foremen.
