Project Engineer - Civil

Role & responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations and construction activities.
• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and timelines.
• Supervise subcontractors, labor, and machinery usage on-site
• Monitor progress and prepare daily/weekly progress report and checklists.
• Ensure quality of construction (e.g., concrete, earthworks, PEB, etc.).
• Quality Assurance in accordance with method statements, quality plans and inspection and test plans
• Preparing & record drawings & technical reports
• Conduct tests (cube tests, slump test, compaction tests, etc.) and maintain records.
• Report any non-conformance and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
• Attend progress review meetings and site inspections.
• Liaise with government and statutory bodies (if required).
• Manage material procurement planning.
• Ensure availability of required materials at the site to avoid delays.
• Monitor material consumption and wastage.
• Update day to day site situations to the concern line manager.

Technical Skills Required:

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good Knowledge in Concrete Technology
• Initial knowledge of Planning & Scheduling, Estimation Preparation, Site Supervision
• Knowledge in the awareness of site layout drawings, structural drawings, interior drawings, technical specifications & bill of materials
• Software skills (MS Office, MS Projects, Auto Cad etc.)
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for proposed projects.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, and other data to plan projects.
• Ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and local regulations.
• Supervise and coordinate construction activities and project teams on-site.
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for clients and management.
• Collaborate with architects, subcontractors, and other engineering disciplines.
• Resolve design and development problems.
• Conduct technical assessments, cost estimations, and risk analysis.
• Review and prepare project documentation including BOQs, material submittals, and shop drawings.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma/B.E. in Civil Engineering with 5 years site experience.
• Strong knowledge of concrete technology, site execution & supervision.
• Ability to read structural/architectural drawings and prepare site reports.
• Basic skills in planning, estimation, QA/QC, and material management.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project.
• Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to work anywhere in India as per project requirement.
