Job Description

The Programme Monitoring Assistant (PMA) is an entry-level, field-based role designed especially for MSW freshers who want to gain practical experience in community development and educational programmes.

This role is suitable for a young, energetic candidate from Mumbai who enjoys working in slum communities, observing field activities, supporting teachers, and documenting programme progress.

This is not a desk job—it involves daily field visits, interactions with children, teachers, and community members, and simple monitoring work that helps improve programme quality.

Key Responsibilities

1. Field Monitoring & Observation

  • Visit ECE, Foundational, STEM, Digital, and Skill Centres regularly.
  • Observe classes, participation, and overall programme implementation.
  • Maintain simple field notes and share observations with the programme team.

2. Support in Learning Quality

  • Assist teachers with conducting basic assessments.
  • Help identify learning gaps in children.
  • Support coordinators in implementing remedial strategies.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare simple weekly and monthly reports.
  • Document student progress, stories from the field, and small case studies.
  • Maintain attendance and programme records accurately.

4. Review & Learning Support

  • Participate in review meetings.
  • Share observations from the field to improve programme execution.
  • Support the team in building a culture of learning and reflection.

5. Basic Capacity Building

  • Learn and use simple monitoring tools (training will be provided).
  • Help teachers with basic documentation and record-keeping.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • MSW fresher (or pursuing final year).
  • Preferably from Mumbai or nearby areas.
  • Basic understanding of slum communities and children’s needs.
  • Ability to speak English, Hindi, and Marathi.
  • Comfortable travelling to field centres daily.

Desirable

  • Basic MS Excel/Google Sheets skills (or willingness to learn).
  • Interest in reporting, documentation, and community-based work.
  • Ability to ride a 2-wheeler is an advantage (not compulsory).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
