Job Description

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations within the FMCG production facility. This role ensures production targets are met with high quality, efficiency, safety, and compliance standards. The supervisor leads and motivates production teams, coordinates with cross-functional departments, and drives continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management

· Plan, organize, and supervise daily production activities to achieve output targets.

· Ensure optimal use of manpower, materials, and machinery.

· Monitor line performance and promptly address bottlenecks or downtime issues.

· Execute production schedules in coordination with planning and supply chain teams.

2. Quality Assurance

· Ensure all products are manufactured according to quality standards and specifications.

· Conduct regular in-process quality checks and coordinate with QA teams for inspections.

· Investigate and correct quality deviations or non-conformities.

3. People Management

· Lead, train, and motivate production staff to meet productivity goals.

· Monitor employee performance and enforce discipline and work standards.

· Conduct shift briefings and ensure proper handover between shifts.

4. Safety & Compliance

· Enforce all workplace safety rules and ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, ISO, and other industry standards.

· Conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.

· Promote a clean and hygienic work environment.

5. Continuous Improvement

· Identify opportunities for process improvement and waste reduction.

· Participate in Kaizen, Lean, or Six Sigma initiatives.

· Monitor KPIs such as OEE, waste %, downtime, and labor efficiency.

6. Documentation & Reporting

· Maintain accurate shift production reports, logs, and operational records.

· Ensure documentation is updated as per SOPs and regulatory requirements.

· Report production performance, issues, and corrective actions to management.

Required Skills:

  • Diploma / ITI / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering field.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills

· 3–7 years of experience in FMCG manufacturing (food, beverage, personal care, household products, etc.).

· Prior experience supervising shop-floor teams.

  • Leadership and team management.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making.

Preferred Skills:

o Good analytical and problem-solving ability

o Basic understanding of business operations and functions

o Attention to detail and time management skills

o Willingness to learn and adapt quickly

o Strong knowledge of production processes, machinery, and automation systems.

o Understanding of GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, or related quality systems.

o Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing and OEE improvement.

Key Competencies:

o Production Planning & Control

o Knowledge of FMCG manufacturing processes

o Understanding of GMP, HACCP, ISO standards

o Equipment troubleshooting & line optimization

o Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen / 5S

o OEE monitoring and improvement
