Objective

To lead the entire Production Planning and Control function ensuring optimal utilization of resources, adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and timely deliveries to meet customer requirements and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning

• Develop and implement effective production plans based on customer orders, forecast, and inventory levels.
  
• Review Bill of Materials (BOM), capacity planning, and man-machine planning to meet targets.
  
• Co-ordinate with design, procurement, and production teams for timely availability of materials and tooling.
  
• Plan and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
  

Production Control

• Track actual production against planned schedules and take corrective actions for deviations.
  
• Ensure WIP (Work in Progress) is monitored and controlled efficiently.
  
• Implement systems for traceability and documentation.
  
• Ensure full compliance with delivery timelines and production quality.
  

Process Optimization & Efficiency

• Monitor cycle times, set-up times, and line balancing for CNC machines, forging and casting lines.
  
• Optimize machine utilization and reduce downtime through effective preventive maintenance planning.
  
• Drive cost-effective production methods without compromising quality.
  

Inventory and Material Coordination

• Coordinate with store and procurement teams to maintain minimum inventory levels while avoiding shortages.
  
• Implement Kanban, JIT or other inventory control techniques where feasible.
  
• Track and report RM, WIP, and FG inventory status.
  

Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and mentor a team of production planners and supervisors.
  
• Coordinate with QA, Design, Purchase, and Dispatch departments for smooth operations.
  
• Review team performance, productivity and ensure skill development where needed.
  

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain all necessary PPC documentation, production logs, and MIS reports.
  
• Present monthly production reports to senior management.
  
• Analyze production trends and suggest improvements in systems and controls.
  

Key Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
  
• Minimum 25 years of experience in PPC in manufacturing setups like forging, casting, CNC machining or auto components.
  
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing, and ERP systems.
  
• Hands-on experience in capacity planning, process planning, and resource optimization.
  
• Excellent analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
