Job Description

A Production Planning Control (PPC) professional, or Production Planner, creates and manages production schedules, optimizes resource allocation, and ensures the timely and efficient completion of manufacturing goals. Key responsibilities include coordinating with various departments, monitoring inventory, analyzing production data for improvements, managing production costs, and troubleshooting problems to maintain smooth operations and high-quality output. Key Responsibilities

  • Production Scheduling:Develop and implement detailed production schedules and plans to meet demand and deadlines.
  • Resource Management:Optimize the utilization of labor, equipment, and materials to ensure maximum productivity.
  • Inventory Control:Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels for raw materials and finished goods, preventing shortages or excesses.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination:Collaborate with procurement, production, sales, and quality control departments to ensure seamless workflow and align plans.
  • Process Improvement:Analyze production data, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions or new technologies to improve processes and reduce costs.
  • Demand Forecasting:Use market forecasts and sales data to predict future production needs.
  • Quality Assurance:Ensure that production processes and products meet established quality standards and specifications.
  • Cost Monitoring:Keep production processes within budget and work to improve cost-effectiveness.
  • Reporting:Prepare and present reports on production status, issues, and performance to management.
  • Problem-Solving:Identify and resolve production disruptions, bottlenecks, and productivity issues to ensure continuous operation.
