Job Description

Role Overview

The Production & Merchandising Executive will be responsible for end-to-end coordination of outsourced production for garments and denims, including costing, vendor follow-ups, MIS reporting, shipment coordination, and ensuring timely delivery as per quality and cost benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Responsibilities

  • Obtain costing from outsourced vendors before order finalization.
  • Prepare MRP and negotiate prices for raw materials and garment manufacturing.
  • Ensure cost optimization without compromising quality or timelines.

2. Operational Responsibilities

Production Planning & Execution

  • Prepare style-wise production files for smooth processing.
  • Conduct PP (Pre-Production) sample trials and ensure approvals.
  • Arrange and dispatch trims and materials to vendors; maintain regular coordination.
  • Collect TNA (Time & Action) plans from outsourcing partners and track adherence.
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods as per committed dates.

Vendor & Partner Coordination

  • Assist in specifications, price follow-ups, vendor communications, and pre-production approvals.
  • Track vendor responses and proactively escalate delays to avoid bottlenecks.
  • Oversee denim vendors (India & China), coordinate with master vendors, and close sample approvals.

MIS & Reporting

  • Maintain consolidated MIS for Garments.
  • Ensure 100% accuracy of PO, shipment, and costing data in MIS.
  • Share weekly MIS dashboards and reports with management.
  • Support cross-pod teams with accurate MIS inputs for fabrics and accessories.

Shipment & Logistics

  • Ensure shipment schedules are aligned with production and team leads.

Seasonal Execution

  • Ensure complete seasonal MIS closure before reviews.
  • Achieve full closure of denim category without escalations.

3. People & Collaboration Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor meetings for issue resolution and future business opportunities.
  • Act as first-line support for team members during high workload or absenteeism.
  • Provide daily production updates to Managers for smooth communication and workflow alignment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of garment.
  • Costing, vendor negotiation, and MIS expertise.
  • Excellent coordination, follow-up, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, MIS tools, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple vendors.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in garment manufacturing / merchandising / production coordination.
  • Exposure to domestic and international vendors (India/China preferred).
