Production Manager

Role & responsibilities

Production & Operations

• Plan, organize, and control sheet metal manufacturing operations including

  blanking, bending, forming, welding, fabrication, and assembly

  .
• Ensure daily/weekly/monthly production targets are met as per customer schedules.
  
• Optimize machine utilization (presses, laser cutting, CNC bending, welding fixtures).
  

Process & Productivity Improvement

• Drive

  Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, SMED, OEE improvement

  , and waste reduction initiatives.
• Reduce cycle time, rejection, rework, and downtime.
  
• Implement standard work instructions and process discipline.
  

Quality Management

• Ensure adherence to quality standards (ISO/IATF, customer-specific requirements).
  
• Monitor in-process and final inspection results.
  
• Handle customer complaints, root cause analysis, and corrective actions (8D, 7QC tools).
  

Manpower & Team Management

• Manage supervisors, engineers, technicians, and operators.
  
• Workforce planning, skill matrix, training, and performance evaluation.
  
• Maintain discipline, safety culture, and high employee engagement on shop floor.
  

Maintenance & Safety

• Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
  
• Ensure compliance with

  EHS norms

  , machine safety, and statutory requirements.
• Drive zero-accident culture.
  

Cost & Inventory Control

• Control production costs, consumables, tooling, and scrap.
  
• Monitor RM/WIP/FG inventory and improve inventory turnover.
  
• Support budgeting and cost-reduction initiatives.
  

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with

  Planning, Quality, Maintenance, SCM, Tool Room, and PPC

  .
• Support new product development, trials, and production ramp-up.
