Description
You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the garment factory, including stitching, cutting, printing, finishing, and packing. Your role will involve preparing and executing production plans based on order timelines and capacity, as well as optimizing workflow to ensure high productivity and minimal downtime. It will also be essential to monitor machine and manpower utilization across all departments. Additionally, you will need to coordinate with design, sampling, merchandising, and purchase departments to align production goals. This will require planning fabric and accessory requirements in coordination with the purchase team, as well as maintaining production timelines and proactively managing any delays that may arise. Quality control will be a crucial aspect of your role, as you will be required to implement and monitor quality control procedures at all stages of production, including cutting, stitching, and finishing. Ensuring that products meet brand specifications and customer expectations, handling customer complaints, and implementing corrective/preventive actions will also be part of your responsibilities. As a team manager, you will be expected to manage and supervise department heads and production supervisors, as well as train and develop factory staff to enhance their skill levels and performance. Creating a culture of discipline, safety, and productivity on the shop floor will also be essential. Cost and efficiency control will be another key area where your expertise will be required. You will need to monitor production costs, reduce wastage of fabric, trims, and resources, and improve process efficiencies while leading lean manufacturing initiatives. Furthermore, overseeing the maintenance and upgradation of machines and equipment, as well as liaising with vendors for job work, maintenance, and machine servicing, will be part of your responsibilities. Ensuring compliance with labor laws, health and safety regulations, maintaining production MIS reports, and driving continuous improvement through data and analytics will also be important aspects of your role. To qualify for this position, you should have a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Textile or Apparel Production, with at least 10 years of experience in garment manufacturing, preferably in knitwear. Strong leadership and team management skills, in-depth knowledge of garment production processes, machinery, and techniques, proficiency in Excel and production software/MIS, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential. The working hours for this role are from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with flexibility as per production needs. This is a full-time job that comes with benefits such as health insurance, paid sick time, and Provident Fund. The job type is full-time, with a day shift schedule and a yearly bonus. The ideal candidate should be willing to commute or relocate to Ludhiana, Punjab, and should have at least 6 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with a preference for knitwear.
