Job Description

As a Product Validation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in testing and qualifying inverter, solar, and battery-based backup products. Your responsibilities will revolve around validating the design, performance, safety, reliability, and life cycle testing of inverter-based applications such as domestic inverters, UPS, power backup solutions, grid-tied, and hybrid inverters with a specific focus on power electronics and control circuits. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute validation plans (DVP&R) for inverters, UPS, and solar products. - Test performance under varying electrical, loading, thermal, and target application conditions. - Validate solar and battery charging algorithms, start/stop and change over behavior, fault protections, and performance under different operating modes. - Validate power and control PCBs for electrical and thermal performance, EMI/EMC, and firmware behavior. - Conduct simulations for different fault injections to verify the robustness of control logic. - Design and conduct accelerated life testing to assess durability, wear, and power/control circuit endurance. - Apply HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing), thermal cycling, and endurance runs simulating real-world use cases. - Conduct safety testing following applicable standards (IEC, BIS, IS). - Support certification testing (BIS, CE, etc.) for electrical safety, thermal safety. - Identify failure modes using DFMEA / FMEA and ensure corrective actions are implemented. - Design and maintain automated test setups including data acquisition, electronic loads, power analyzers, and thermal chambers. - Maintain high accuracy in instrumentation - power analyzers, data loggers, thermal cameras, etc. - Automate test processes for repetitive life and endurance testing. - Document test plans, protocols, results, and deviations. - Prepare detailed validation reports and support cross-functional teams with findings and recommendations. - Maintain traceability and compliance documentation aligned with quality management systems. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. - 5-10 years of experience in product validation and reliability testing of inverters, solar inverters, hybrid inverters, and different types of batteries. Must Have Skills: - Hands-on experience with power electronics, inverter circuits, embedded system, and firmware validation. - Proficiency in using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, power meters, DAQs, grid simulator and solar simulators, power supply, temperature probes, thermal imagers, etc. - Experience with low and high-frequency-based inverter circuits, PWM, MPPT, SMPS circuits. - Strong understanding of different solar panel technologies and their characteristics. - Strong understanding of different battery chemistries (lead-acid, lithium-ion, sodium-ion) and their behavior in different test conditions. - Experience with high-voltage or high-power systems (above 5 kW). - Proficiency in MS Office. Desirable Skills: - Working knowledge of reliability prediction tools and techniques. - Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance testing. - Test automation techniques, data analysis. - Certification in Reliability Engineering. - Statistical reliability analysis (Weibull, Arrhenius) to estimate MTBF and predict failures.,
