Role & responsibilities Primary Responsibilities: Test, Qualify, and validate the firmware releases on the actual hardware solutions owned by the Embedded Systems group Be able to assess the nature of the test failures FW, SW or HW. Provide feedback to the team on test results Help define the hardware platform for testing Conduct thorough testing and validation of hardware products to ensure compliance with specifications, requirements and quality standards. Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware defects and implement preventive measures for malfunctions to minimize future occurrences. Maintain and improve existing regression test suites Validate features using different test methodologies – white and black box testing The position requires excellent soft skills to be part of a cross functional team, excellent written & oral communication and presentation skills. Mandatory Skills: Minimum of 3 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 1 years and a Master’s degree. Good knowledge of integration testing of hardware and firmware for Embedded Systems. Experience with various lab equipment – Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, DMMs etc., Experience in design and Automation testing for Embedded Devices Coding experience in a high-level language - C, C++ and Python Exposure to Linux internals Desirable Skills: Experience architecting and building hardware infrastructure for testing is preferred. Embedded Systems experience working on EtherCAT protocol is preferred Understanding of CI/CD environment using Jenkins is preferred

As a Hypervisor Validation Engineer in the IBM Systems Hypervisor Functional test team, you will be responsible for the functional verification of IBM hypervisor for IBM servers. As needed, you are also expected to work with the Open Server Architecture partners and Open BMC community for server virtualization validation and support. As a Hypervisor Validation Engineer, you will work on testing, design and development of automation suites for validating different Hypervisor related subsystems of IBM Servers. Design, develop and execute test plans for validating platform and virtualization management functions through command line and Graphical User interfaces. Develop / maintain automation suites GUI and CLI demonstrating a strong understanding of underlying system design and using skills in Jenkins, GIT, Python / Perl. Be a contributor in developing an environment for continuous improvement across product lines Interact with the Development, System test teams and Product Engineers to define test plans and collect test data across teams Analyse Automation reports; Identify and verify defects Required education Bachelor's Degree Preferred education Master's Degree Required technical and professional expertise 1.Must have good experience in Virtualization concepts. 2.Must have experience in creating and managing Unix or Linux partitions using server management tools. 3.Must have experience in scripting languages (PERL, shell, Python) and should have experience in configuring and executing automated test suites. 4.Should have strong debugging skills. Requirements: Excellence in hands on coding with deep expertise in Python or other OOPs based high level languages. Work closely with FW developers and architects to achieve verification closure on features and bug fixes, including defining verification strategy, Develop technical domain depth in IP domain to enable working from first principles by Co-relating spec to environment to identify scope of work, guide/own execution in terms of features, debug. Work with architects to ungate firmware validation by resolving blocks/ambiguities in spec. Own global horizontal firmware validation methodology initiatives. Own the verification quality of deliverables assigned. Develop test plans, enhance the firmware verification environment wrt modelling, checks, testcases, to adhere to scalability and quality requirements. Ability to work in a complex fast paced global environment with multi stakeholder interaction across architecture, design and validation. Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills Qualifications Minimum Qualifications : BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or other science/engineering related field. Min 4 years' coding and debug experience with Python Experience with Micro Controller based systems having embedded low level firmware Preferred Qualifications Coding and Debug experience with C, C++ Experience with a model-based FW validation environment Familiarity with x86 architecture at a flow level
