About the Role

The ideal candidate will play a dual role, acting as the Product Owner (PO), while also facilitating Agile ceremonies and ensuring seamless delivery as a Scrum Master in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment.

This role requires a strong background in payments in the banking domain, particularly with SWIFT MT and MX messages, cross-border payments, and payment processing engines, along with business analysis expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Product Owner Responsibilities

  • Define, maintain, and prioritize the team backlog based on business value and customer needs.
  • Clearly articulate epics, features, and user stories in alignment with program priorities and business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, and other Product Owners to ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Provide domain expertise in cross-border payments, clearing & settlement processes, and payment processing workflows.
  • Manage and validate SWIFT MT/MX (ISO 20022) message requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within the Agile Team, refining requirements, and accepting completed stories.
  • Participate actively in PI (Program Increment) planning, system demos, and inspect & adapt events.

Scrum Master Responsibilities

  • Facilitate all Agile ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Retrospectives.
  • Remove team impediments and foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
  • Ensure the team adheres to Agile values, practices, and SAFe principles.
  • Collaborate with Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Product Management, and other Scrum Masters within the ART (Agile Release Train).
  • Track and communicate team metrics, sprint progress, and PI objectives achievement.

Business Analyst Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
  • Perform gap analysis, impact analysis, and work with stakeholders to finalize business solutions.
  • Support functional specification preparation, test case validation, and UAT support.
  • Maintain clear, detailed documentation of payment workflows, message structures, and process maps.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in Agile project delivery with at least 5+ years as a Product Owner and 2+ years as a Scrum Master.
  • Strong knowledge of Banking Payments Domain:
    • SWIFT MT and MX (ISO 20022) message standards
    • Cross-Border Payments Workflow
    • Clearing and Settlement process overview
  • Familiarity with any Payment Processing Engine
  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in banking or financial services.
  • Deep understanding of SAFe Agile framework and practices.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM) or SAFe® Scrum Master (SSM) certification.
  • Experience in cross-functional delivery teams within an Agile Release Train (ART).
