Job Purpose

The Product Manager – Veterinary is responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of veterinary products, from strategy and planning to promotion and performance tracking. The role focuses on driving product growth, market share, and profitability by aligning product strategy with veterinarian and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement product strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Prepare annual product plans, forecasts, and marketing budgets.
  • Define product positioning, communication themes, and differentiation.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Manage product lifecycle including launches, re-launches, line extensions, and phase-outs.
  • Coordinate with R&D, regulatory, supply chain, and quality teams for timely product availability.
  • Ensure all product activities comply with veterinary regulatory and promotional guidelines.

Marketing & Promotion

  • Develop and execute promotional strategies for veterinary products targeting veterinarians, distributors, and farmers.
  • Create promotional tools such as visual aids, brochures, training manuals, and digital content.
  • Plan and execute conferences, CMEs, veterinary meets, and product-focused events.

Market Research & Analysis

  • Monitor market trends, disease patterns, competitor activity, and customer insights.
  • Track product performance, sales trends, market share, and ROI of promotional activities.
  • Recommend corrective actions to improve product performance.

Sales & Field Force Support

  • Work closely with sales teams to ensure effective product promotion and in-market execution.
  • Conduct product training and knowledge sessions for field force and distributors.
  • Support sales teams with product presentations, FAQs, and objection-handling tools.

  • Strong knowledge of veterinary / animal health products and market dynamics

Qualification & Experience

  • MBA / PGDM in Marketing
  • BVSc / Life Sciences / Pharmacy background preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in veterinary or animal healthcare product management
