Product Engineer - Design & Documentation

Role Overview
Duroflex is looking for a Product Engineer Design & Documentation to support the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from design documentation to manufacturing execution. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in furniture/mattress design, proficiency in CAD software, and experience in working with cross-functional teams to bring innovative products to market.Key Responsibilities1. Design & Product DocumentationCreate and maintain detailed product design documentation, engineeringdrawings, and specifications.Ensure accuracy in Bill of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation formanufacturing.2. Technical Support for Product DevelopmentCollaborate with design and R&D teams to translate concepts intomanufacturable products.Assist in the development and prototyping of new furniture/mattress designs.3. Manufacturing Coordination & Process OptimizationWork closely with vendors and in-house production teams to ensure smoothproduct execution.Develop assembly instructions and quality control parameters to maintainproduction efficiency.4. Material & Process ExpertiseStrong understanding of materials like wood, engineered wood, upholstery,foams, and fabrics.Knowledge of sheet metal processing, woodworking techniques, andupholstery manufacturing.5. Reverse Engineering & Continuous ImprovementConduct reverse engineering studies to improve product designs and optimizecosts.Implement design modifications to enhance functionality and durability.6. Cross-Functional Collaboration & ComplianceCoordinate with supply chain, marketing, and operations teams to alignproduct development with business objectives.Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and quality standards in productdesigns.7. Prototyping & ValidationOversee prototyping and validation processes, ensuring designs meetfunctional and aesthetic standards.Participate in frequent site visits to monitor production and resolve designchallenges.

Education: B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.

Experience: 4-6 years in furniture/mattress design and engineering.

Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, SketchUp.

Industry Experience: Furniture & mattress manufacturing (preferred from Urban Ladder, Wakefit, Nilkamal, Home Centre, or similar).

Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
