Product Development Engineer

As a Senior Product Development Engineer cum Designer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of various industrial equipment such as Dampers, Feeders, Gates, Material Handling Equipment, Separation and Screening Equipment, Bag Filters, Storage, and Silo Equipment. Your strong background in mechanical design, product development, and industrial applications will be crucial in this role along with expertise in 3D modeling, engineering calculations, and manufacturing processes. Your key responsibilities will include conceptualizing, designing, and developing industrial equipment, conducting feasibility studies and technical analysis, optimizing product designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. You will also be involved in creating and validating 3D models, 2D drawings, and detailed engineering documents, performing structural, thermal, and flow analysis, developing BOMs and manufacturing drawings, and selecting appropriate materials and fabrication techniques. Additionally, you will work closely with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure DFM and DFA principles, collaborate with vendors and suppliers for sourcing raw materials and components, develop prototypes, coordinate product validation testing, implement quality control measures, troubleshoot design issues, and analyze failures. Project management and coordination with cross-functional teams, cost estimation, BOM preparation, technical documentation, on-time delivery of product designs, and participation in customer discussions will also be part of your responsibilities. To succeed in this role, you should possess strong expertise in mechanical design, industrial equipment, and material handling systems, proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor, experience with FEA, CFD, and material selection, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and a good understanding of Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills, along with the ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams, will be essential. Qualifications for this position include a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, 8-15 years of experience in designing and developing material handling & industrial equipment, and experience in bulk handling, dust collection, or screening systems. Preferred experience includes handling customized projects, exposure to international standards for equipment design and safety, and prior experience working with vendors, suppliers, and fabrication shops.
