Job Description

As a Product Designer at BMC, you will play a crucial role in leading the design and evolution of the design system used across multiple products and platforms. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring consistency, scalability, and efficiency in user interface design, empowering product teams to create delightful, accessible, and cohesive user experiences. Here is how you will contribute to BMC's and your own success: - Lead and facilitate collaboration with product designers and UI developers to ensure design system alignment across products. - Develop and maintain design standards and guidelines for consistency across all products and platforms. - Manage and track the component library to ensure accuracy, scalability, and ease of use. - Champion innovative design thinking to drive groundbreaking design solutions that enhance the product's user experience. - Conduct research and usability testing for components to optimize user experience. - Audit existing UI components and patterns to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for consolidation. - Design components in a generic and flexible manner to ensure usability across all BMC products. - Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in product design to enhance user experience. - Collaborate with engineering for precise implementation. - Build strong relationships with stakeholders and promote the significance of user-centered design throughout the organization. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in product design, graphic design, or related field. - Minimum of 6 years of experience in UX/product design with a successful track record. - Strong portfolio showcasing design skills, process, and impact. - Proficiency in design tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and InVision. - Experience with design systems, component libraries, and design standards. - Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices. - Understanding of user-centered design principles, design thinking, and human-computer interaction. - Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects concurrently. - Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.
