Job Description

As a Mechanical Engineer at Northern Tool, you will be responsible for providing design and development support for product design activities. Your role will involve carrying out Mechanical Engineering and CAD activities based on the scope of work provided to you. You will be tasked with owning and maintaining the design, components, and assemblies using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) techniques to minimize product cost through design and process improvements. This will include creating specifications, conducting preliminary design reviews, and participating in critical design reviews. In this position, you will be responsible for the development of drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing and sourcing purposes. You will collaborate with the Project Engineer and participate in integrated product team discussions to assign actions and provide status updates. Additionally, you will be involved in creating mechanical system test requirements and leading design reviews, as well as component placement in master assemblies. Your CAD modeling activities will adhere to Northern Tool's best practices and meet drawing checklist requirements. Proficiency in Creo is required for file format compatibility. Moreover, you will utilize root cause determination fundamentals such as 8D, A3, and RPS to address any issues that may arise during the design and development process.,
