Role Overview: As a Producer for BBC News Urdu in India at The Collective Newsroom, you will be responsible for error-free writing, editing, and producing a variety of digital content in text, video, and audio formats for the Website, TV, Social Platforms, and podcasts to the highest professional standards. Your role will involve exercising editorial judgment of the highest standards in developing story ideas and producing accurate and impartial journalism. Qualification Required: - A high standard of editorial judgment, writing ability, and production skills based on substantial digital journalism experience. - Thorough knowledge of analytics and audience engagement tools and strategy. - Understanding the requirements of the BBC News Urdu audience and delivering to achieve its target. - Ability to write creatively in an engaging manner, adapt, produce, and translate with accuracy, clarity, and style appropriate to differing audiences and forms of media suitable for multimedia output. - Sound understanding of health and safety procedures and how they apply to digital media. Key Responsibilities: - Originating and producing original stories from the ground or across BBC output or agency sources. - Commissioning and selecting relevant materials ensuring they meet audience expectations. - Ensuring all content published on BBC News Urdu website and social media platforms adhere to the BBC editorial and social media guidelines. - Presenting live or recorded content online on BBC News Urdu social media platforms when required. - Seeking ways to increase diversity in the workforce and ensuring that the output reflects the served audiences. - Coordinating effectively with the CNRs input desk to ensure planning reflects ground reality and producing unique content for the BBC News Urdu audience. - Delivering journalism of the highest standard within the required timeframe using available resources. - Ensuring all published content on the BBC News Urdu website, social media platforms, and TV programs are free from factual or grammatical errors. - Monitoring developments/Breaking News from the region and around the world and publishing appropriately with value addition and perspective. - Acting as a bridge between team members and Editor to ensure desired results in terms of output and coordination. - Delivering to tight deadlines while maintaining quality and the highest editorial standards. - Carrying out duties in accordance with the organization's health and safety policy.
