Procurement- Production Material controller

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Material Controller & Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement and management of materials required for our production processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and procurement principles, along with excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities:

• Material Planning & Control:

• Develop and maintain accurate material forecasts based on production schedules and demand projections.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels to prevent shortages and minimize excess inventory.
• Implement and maintain inventory control systems and procedures.
• Track material usage and identify trends to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
• Coordinate with production and planning teams to ensure material availability for scheduled production runs.

• Procurement & Sourcing:

• Source and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms.
• Issue purchase orders and track order status to ensure timely delivery.
• Manage supplier relationships and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and alternative materials.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Manage the RFQ (Request for Quotation) process.
• Follow up on delivery of procured goods.

• Data Management & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of material transactions, inventory levels, and supplier information.
• Generate reports on material usage, inventory levels, and procurement activities.
• Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage inventory and procurement processes.

• Quality Control & Compliance:

• Ensure that all materials meet quality standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with quality control teams to resolve any material quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in material control, procurement, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory management principles and techniques.
• Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
• Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of quality control processes and procedures.
• Experience in dealing with international suppliers is a plus.
