Procurement Executive

Position :

Educational Qualification:

Experience:

• 2 - 3 years of experience in procurement/materials in a DRI steel plant, integrated steel plant, power plant, or heavy industrial unit
• Freshers with sound technical knowledge and strong interest in plant procurement may also be considered

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Process purchases indents raised by Operations, Mechanical, Electrical, and Maintenance departments
• Float enquiries and obtain quotations as per approved vendor lists and technical specifications
• Prepare techno-commercial comparative statements (TCCS) for spares, equipment, and services.
• Coordinate with user departments for technical clarification and finalization
• Ensure purchase orders comply with GST, freight, insurance, payment terms, LD clauses, and warranty provisions.
• Support negotiation of prices, delivery schedules, and warranty terms.
• Identify and develop vendors for DRI-specific spares and services.
• Maintain and update Approved Vendor List (AVL) for mechanical, electrical, and local purchases.
• Support alternate sourcing to reduce single-vendor dependency
• Ensure purchase orders comply with GST, freight, insurance, payment terms, LD clauses, and warranty provisions
• Coordinate with Finance for correct tax classification and timely vendor payments.
• Coordinate with Stores for material receipt, inspection, and GRN.
• Support periodic review of slow-moving and non-moving inventory
• Maintain complete documentation for indents, enquiries, quotations, POs, amendments, and delivery records
• Update procurement transactions in ERP/ Material Management System.
• Provide procurement data for MIS, audits, and management review.

Key Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications.
• Negotiation skills
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP (MM Module)
• Cost consciousness with focus on value engineering and lifecycle cost
