Job Description: Process Operator – Crushing

Position Title: Process Operator – Crushing

Location: Kangeyam, Tamil Nadu, India

Experience: 2–3 years of work experience, preferably in the edible oil industry with exposure to expeller/crushing operations.

Key Role: Plant Operation – Crushing Unit
CTC ₹3,00,000 – ₹4,00,000 per annum

Reporting Structure

Upward: Shift In-Charge / Officer

Downward: Operator team under assigned shift

Educational Qualification: B.Sc. (Chemistry) or ITI (AOCP / Fitter) or Diploma in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor crushing process equipment including Expellers, Conveyors, Cooker, Pleat Heat Exchanger, Pumps, Pressure Vessels, Valves, Cake Cooling System, Press Leaf Filter & Oil Storage Tanks.
• Manage material handling and process flow of raw materials (e.g., copra) and by-products (cake), including unloading, loading, and packaging.
• Maintain control of process parameters and ensure efficient plant operations with minimal deviations.
• Use PLC and process control tools to optimize operating conditions.
• Ensure accurate shift log documentation and reporting of any anomalies.
• Coordinate with support teams for maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and compliance in the crushing area.
• Support production targets and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of crushing and expeller operations.
• Proficient with process control and related equipment:
• Expellers & Conveyors
• Cooker & Heat Exchangers
• Pumps, Valves & Pressure Vessels
• Cake Cooling Systems & Filters
• Oil Storage Systems
• Exposure to handling copra and knowledge of FFA (Free Fatty Acid).
• Competence in loading and unloading procedures.
• Computer proficiency including familiarity with PLC systems and basic digital tools.
