Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Design & Layout

• Develop and optimize equipment layouts, ensuring effective utilization of space and adherence to design standards.
• Perform equipment sizing and prepare mass & energy balances for efficient plant operations.

Plant Layout & Plot Plan

• Prepare comprehensive plant layouts and plot plans for distillery and evaporator systems.

Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

• Design and review PFDs and P&IDs, ensuring alignment with project requirements and process needs.
• Conduct line sizing calculations for liquid, vapour, and steam processes.

Hydraulic & Pump System Design

• Perform pump hydraulic calculations and assist in pump selection to match process demands.

Equipment Specification

• Develop process data sheet (PDS) sheets for key equipment such as distillation columns, shell-and-tube heat exchangers, reboilers, tanks, and evaporators.
• Prepare inquiry specifications for various components, including:
• Plate Heat Exchangers (PHE)
• Pumps, blowers, and vacuum pumps
• Decanters, steam traps, and strainers, VRV
• Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs), cleaning nozzles, and flame arresters
• Air-cooled condensers and weld block PHE.
• Valves, cooling tower calculation.

Collaboration & Documentation

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and operations, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Maintain detailed documentation for all design and engineering activities.
• Involved with finalization, technical discussion & Meeting with Vendors for various bought out items.
• Site Coordination whenever required.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education:

  Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.

• Experience:

  3-5 years of relevant experience in distillery and evaporator process engineering or similar industries.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in process simulation tools and software (e.g., Aspen Plus, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of equipment sizing, mass & energy balance, and hydraulic calculations.
• Experience in preparing PFDs, P&IDs, and PD sheets.
• Knowledge of industrial standards and safety regulations.
