Job Description

Title : Process Engineer (Automation) Department : Manufacturing Engineering Job Goal Improve process yield through automation Quality improvement Increase production efficiency through improvements on line. Key Activities: Applying automation techniques to production lines to improve current production methods Design conceptualization of electrical/electronic system, preparation of BOM , circuit diagrams. Integration of existing systems/equipments with electronic & software system to ensure seamless operation. Identify the requirement of custom interfaces between existing setups/machine & proposed control systems or micro controller-based systems. Responsible for Complete knowledge transfer of control systems , PLC logics ,communication protocols from supplier during new equipment buyoff Understanding of communication interfaces of different devices like scanners , PCs , printers , any sensing devices & work on optimum industrial integration. Should be able to develop PLC , PC based automation systems (for production & assembly lines) along with integration of different sensors & related automation elements along with operator interfaces (HMI , push buttons etc) Should be conversant with data storage applications & its report generation Parameters to measure if the employee is a performer or non performer 100% Examples of KPIs Productivity Improvement CQC action implementation Ontime project completion Minimize PPM level SCOPE: Implements activities that generally impact limited, lower risk components / processes of work of own unit / team.( how does the persons work impact overall work flow) Low Medium High DIRECTION Does it he/she do it independently OR needs direction Give direction : review somebody elses work one –on-on or to a group KNOWLEDGE PLC programming & troubleshooting Knowledge of micro controller Programming language like C , python , .Net Knowledge of communication protocols used Preparation of electrical circuit diagrams Knowledge of SQC language Knowledge of hardware – electronic circuit hardware (sensors, actuators, controllers, VFDs, Motors etc..
