Role
: Associate Principal Lending (Billing Operations)
Department
: Principal Lending (part of MFS Securities Lending function)
Location
: Chennai
Reports to
: Assistant Manager, Principal Lending Operations

Position Purpose

Handle
back-office billing operations
for Principal Lending.
Ensure process productivity, risk management, and governance.
Drive
strategic projects
with global stakeholders.

Responsibilities

1. Operations

Billing & contract compare processes (settlements, payments, clearing breaks).
Root cause analysis of contract/accounting breaks.
Standardize processes across teams.
Update procedures/skill matrix; reduce operational dependencies.

2. Risk Management

Monitor SLAs, trade breaks, pending fees.
Manage collateral non-cover reports for high-value clients.
Handle audits and regulatory compliance.
Implement risk reduction and automation strategies.

3. Budget & Governance

Conduct calls with Paris/global heads and local teams.
Business continuity planning.
Manage departmental budgets.

4. Recruitment & People

Hire, train, mentor, appraise, and build succession plans.
Encourage diversity, staff mobility, and performance development.

Qualifications

Education
: Graduate (Commerce/MBA Finance preferred).
Experience
: Minimum
5 years in capital market operations
, ideally with securities lending/custodian operations.
