Principal Specialist Power Performance

As a Power Optimization Specialist at our company located at Knightsbridge Office Park, Bryanston, South Africa, you will have the opportunity to play a crucial role in analysing and optimizing site-specific power strategies based on various customer requirements to support the overall business objectives. Your responsibilities will include: - Analysing and optimizing site-specific power strategies based on different customer requirements and business needs. - Supporting operations and maintenance partners by identifying clear techniques and strategies to maximize power provision capability per site. - Aligning technical and commercial models to minimize the total cost impact of network management for MAST, focusing on operational and maintenance requirements to deliver a profitable business case. - Managing and collaborating with the Power team, external stakeholders, and operations and maintenance partners to develop innovative site-specific power design and optimization solutions. - Working with product suppliers to identify and implement best-in-class solutions. In terms of supplier and contract management, you will be responsible for: - Developing structures to monitor, evaluate, and manage supplier solutions, contractors, and third parties" performance against their contracted scope of work. - Benchmarking best practices for overall solutions and financial management. - Formulating and managing all power-related operational elements related to CAPEX and OPEX requirements. - Leading the creation of dashboards to provide management visibility on site-specific power performance and optimization needs. - Overseeing design reporting to identify technical solutions for improved financial management and profitability on deployed solutions. - Supporting MAST preparation for ISO compliance and certification. - Designing solutions to enhance compliance management for MAST and its operations and maintenance partners. To be successful in this role, you must have the following technical/professional qualifications: - Grade 12 is essential. - Possession of a 3-year related electrical qualification (diploma or bachelor's degree) and being registered as a master electrician with the Department of Labor. - A minimum of 5 years of hands-on working experience in the telecommunications sector with essential knowledge of multitenant site power operations. - Preference will be given to candidates with experience, particularly within a research and development team, capable of designing, evaluating, and implementing various power solutions.
