The Principal Software Engineer - PEGA (P4) will serve as a hands-on technical leader driving the design, architecture, and delivery of complex PEGA applications across multiple business lines. This role requires deep technical expertise in PEGA platform architecture, decisioning, and integration patterns to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing workflow solutions. The ideal candi will collaborate closely with product owners, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure adherence to enterprise standards and long-term platform strategy.

About the Team: This role is for FCI Lending Digital Automation team under Lending Technology and will be helping the bank build Automation tools like PEGA, Robotics, RPA etc.

Impact (Job Summary/Why this Role Matters)

This role is critical as it spearheads the end-to-end design, architecture and implementation of PEGA- based enterprise applications. The Principal Software Engineer servers as a key subject matter expert for PEGA Customer Decision Hub (CDH) and other frameworks, directly defining best practices and collaborating with enterprise architects to align technical solutions with strategic roadmaps.

Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)

Lead the end-to-end design, architecture, and implementation of PEGA-based enterprise applications.
Serve as a subject matter expert for PEGA Customer Decision Hub (CDH), case management, and integration frameworks.
Define best practices for reusable components, design patterns, and deployment standards.
Collaborate with enterprise architects and business leaders to align solutions with strategic roadmaps.
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to Lead and Senior Engineers.
Ensure platform scalability, maintainability, and adherence to security and compliance standards.
Oversee code reviews, performance tuning, and production release quality.
Engage with vendors (Pega, Box, Kafka, etc.) and internal teams for enterprise integrations and solution governance.

Skills and Qualification (Functional and Technical Skills)

Functional Skills:

Lending or Finance domain (good to have)

Technical Skills:

Pega Certified Lead System Architect (CLSA) - Required
Pega Certified Decisioning Consultant (CDH) - Required
Minimum 12+ years of total IT experience with at least 7+ years in PEGA design and development.
Strong expertise in PEGA 8.x or higher, application design, integrations, and performance optimization.
Experience leading large-scale PEGA implementations in banking, financial services, or enterprise environments.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with microservices, Kafka, API management, and CI/CD automation.
Exposure to cloud deployments (AWS, Azure) and containerized PEGA environments.
Proven success mentoring teams and contributing to COE governance frameworks.
