As a Principal Project Engineer at Wood, you will play a crucial role in leading and coordinating life sciences projects in the pharmaceutical sector. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading and coordinating life sciences projects (API/Biotech and Formulations) from initiation to closeout, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints. - Implementing best practices in project delivery for successful project outcomes. - Monitoring progress of work for life science projects and coordinating between multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality solutions aligned with industry standards. - Collaborating with clients to identify project goals, objectives, and key performance indicators to ensure timely delivery. - Applying engineering principles to analyze and optimize processes within the life science industry and provide valuable insights to clients. - Assisting clients in navigating regulatory requirements and implementing best practices. - Fostering a collaborative and positive team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing. - Allocating resources effectively to meet project demands and timelines. - Implementing quality assurance processes as defined in project quality plans and organizational requirements. - Maintaining accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including progress reports to clients to uphold high standards of excellence. Your key objectives in this role will be to: - Develop project/engineering execution plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, and resource requirements. - Deputise Project Engineering Manager/Project Manager as a point of contact for internal/external clients. - Be conversant with life sciences project set-up, planning, schedule management, project monitoring/control activities, and closeouts. - Implement risk assessment and mitigation strategies to ensure project success. Qualifications required for this role include: - Graduate in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering with relevant life sciences projects experience. - Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in life sciences design consultancy/industry. - Experience in API/Formulation/Bio-Tech projects is preferable. - Proven experience in project management within the life sciences or consultancy industry. - Strong understanding of life sciences concepts and applications. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams. - Ability to demonstrate leadership and motivate cross-functional teams. - Proficient in project management tools and techniques.
