Job Description

As the Principal Pipeline Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in interpreting internal and external business issues related to pipeline engineering. Your responsibilities include solving complex pipeline-related problems independently with minimal guidance. You may lead functional teams or projects, showcasing your expertise in the pipeline engineering field and broad knowledge within the engineering function. Key Responsibilities: - Interpret internal and external business challenges in pipeline engineering, demonstrating specialized depth and breadth of expertise - Recommend best practices and independently solve complex pipeline-related problems - Lead functional teams or projects as a specialist in pipeline engineering, requiring in-depth expertise and broad knowledge within the discipline - Become fully familiar with project scope, specifications, schedule, and inter-discipline requirements - Interface with all disciplines to develop clash-free designs - Document substantive communications and forward copies to Discipline Lead Engineer and Discipline Manager - Prepare estimates for bid proposals and raise technical queries to obtain missing information - Provide technical direction, review, and approve Discipline engineering design basis and technical specifications - Assist in procurement activities and review vendor and subcontractor submittals for compliance - Monitor costs of own work processes and assist in the maintenance of departmental technical guidelines - Develop communication and presentation skills, identify training needs, and provide guidance to less experienced engineers - Review and approve material specifications, installation analyses, and pipeline design reports - Act as project-based Discipline point of contact in communications with Customers - Plan, organize, and assign tasks to the discipline team, ensuring completion within budgets - Lead the Discipline team during project audits and design reviews - Anticipate project engineering needs and coordinate with vendors for discipline-managed items Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering - 15-20 years of experience in oil and gas with a focus on detail design - Knowledge of design techniques, analysis methods, and relevant standards - Project coordination and execution skills - Preferably a Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional engineering society - Strong organizational, motivational, and problem-solving skills - Fluent in English with a focus on HSE, TQM, and cost-conscious practices - Supportive of company goals and processes, with a flexible and adaptive approach By joining our team, you will be part of a company that has been driving the energy transition for over 100 years, with a global presence and a focus on sustainability.
