Principal Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Lead the design, architecture, and development of storage systems for the Doc Vault platform.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement platform engineering best practices.

- Build and scale distributed storage solutions leveraging Cassandra, MongoDB, Kafka, caching, and logging frameworks.

- Ensure systems are highly available, fault-tolerant, and optimized for performance at scale.

- Drive adoption of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles and microservices architecture patterns.

- Oversee the development of storage-related SDKs, frameworks, and services that can be reused across products.

- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineering teams.

- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to align storage architecture with business goals.

- Establish coding, design, and performance standards for the storage platform.

- Stay up to date with emerging trends in cloud-native architectures, storage technologies, and distributed systems.

Preferred candidate profile

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

- Proven expertise in designing and scaling distributed storage systems using Cassandra, MongoDB, Kafka, and related technologies.

- Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and platform engineering.

- Hands-on experience with caching strategies, logging frameworks, and monitoring tools.

- Deep understanding of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and microservices architecture.

- Strong coding skills in Java, with experience in Spring Boot or equivalent frameworks.

- Proven track record of delivering high-scale, high-availability platforms.

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
