Job Description

As a Principal Electrical Engineer at our company, your role involves interpreting internal or external business issues and recommending best practices. You will be responsible for solving complex Electrical-related problems independently with minimal guidance. Additionally, you may lead functional teams or projects, being regarded as a specialist in the field of Electrical. Your expertise in Electrical should be in-depth, with broad knowledge of the Electrical discipline within the Engineering function. Key Responsibilities: - Become fully familiar with project scope, specifications, and schedule, addressing concerns early and taking necessary initiatives - Interpret contractual requirements related to engineering execution and identify changes to scope promptly - Interface with all disciplines to develop clash-free designs and obtain input for Discipline designs and drawings - Coordinate closely with other engineering disciplines, SCM, Planning, Fabrication, Marine, and Project Management teams - Document substantive communications and forward copies to relevant stakeholders - Prepare estimates for bid proposals and raise technical queries to ensure project requirements are met - Review project schedules, fabrication schedules, and deliverables lists to ensure compliance - Provide technical direction and review of Designers" work related to Electrical Engineering - Assist in procurement activities, including preparing requisitions, evaluating technical quotations, and coordinating with Procurement - Review and approve vendor and subcontractor submittals, ensuring compliance with project specifications - Keep stakeholders informed about activities, concerns, and progress reports - Provide technical support during fabrication queries and assist in resolving issues - Supervise and guide assigned engineers, ensuring engineering integrity in the work area - Monitor costs of work processes and assist in maintaining departmental technical guidelines Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Master's degree - Minimum 18 years of experience in oil and gas industry with major contractors or consultants, predominantly in detail design - Profound knowledge of design techniques, analysis methods, and application of standards, codes, and guidelines - Project coordination and execution skills - Strong communication and presentation skills, including technical writing and participation in conferences or seminars You will report to the Project Engineering Manager or Project Manager and liaise with various internal and external stakeholders, including all Engineering disciplines, Fabrication Groups, Safety Dept, Project Management Team, Document Control, and Procurement Group.
