Department: Design & Drafting Vadodara, Gujarat, India Position Title: Principal Electrical Designer Reporting To: Senior Electrical Engineering Job Description Principal Electrical Designer About the Role: The Principal Electrical Designer will lead and support the Electrical Design team for industrial and wastewater projects. The role focuses on delivering high-quality electrical design packages while ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA, UL, and OSHA standards. The position requires strong technical leadership, cross-discipline coordination, and team mentorship to ensure timely, accurate, and safe design execution. Qualification & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical design for industrial or wastewater facilities. Strong understanding of NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, UL508A, IEEE, ISA, and OSHA standards. Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, and Vault Professional . Familiarity with project management tools such as Monday.com, SharePoint, MS Project/Planner . Certification in Arc-Flash Safety and Hazardous Area Design preferred. NICET certification desirable; PE license is an added advantage. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Key Responsibilities: Lead, review, and finalize electrical design deliverables including SLDs, wiring diagrams, schematics, and layouts. Design and specify low-voltage systems (600V) , motor control, grounding/bonding, surge protection, and standby power systems. Support electrical design for Class I Div 1/2 and Zone 1/2 hazardous areas per NEC and NFPA standards. Coordinate designs with mechanical, structural, and process engineering teams for seamless integration. Oversee QA/QC , design validation, and documentation management within Autodesk Vault workflows. Supervise, guide, and mentor junior designers on standards, procedures, and best practices. Collaborate with vendors and clients to understand requirements and conduct technical reviews. Prepare load calculations, short-circuit studies, voltage drop analysis, and arc-flash studies . Support commissioning and troubleshooting of modular skid-based systems such as UV, EQ, and MEMPAC .
