Job Summary:

The Principal Data Engineer - GCP role involves designing and implementing end-to-end data and analytics solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The position requires expertise in GCP services like BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage, along with strong data modeling skills. The role includes mentoring teams, participating in pre-sales activities, and collaborating with leadership on cloud strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and drive end-to-end data and analytics solution architecture from concept to delivery on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Design, develop, and support conceptual, logical, and physical data models for advanced analytics and ML-driven solutions
• Ensure integration of industry-accepted data architecture principles, standards, guidelines, and concepts
• Drive the design, sizing, provisioning, and setup of GCP environments and related services
• Provide mentoring and guidance on GCP-based data architecture to engineering, analytics, and business teams
• Review solution requirements and architecture for appropriate technology selection and integration
• Advise on emerging GCP trends and services, and recommend adoption strategies
• Participate in pre-sales engagements, PoCs, and contribute to thought leadership content
• Collaborate with founders and leadership team on cloud and data strategy

Must Have Skills

• Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Looker)
• Data modeling techniques (Relational or Star or Snowflake or DataVault)
• Data warehousing and analytics services
• Data orchestration tools (Dataflow or Pub/Sub or Dataproc or Cloud Composer)
• SQL and Python programming
• Cloud security and infrastructure (IAM, VPCs, VPNs or firewall rules)
