Role Overview: As a Data Engineer - Principal at Birlasoft in Hyderabad, India, you will be responsible for leading Snowflake implementations, optimizing data pipelines, and providing technical leadership in cloud data architecture. With over 10 years of experience in data engineering, you will play a crucial role in designing scalable solutions and ensuring high performance and efficiency in data processing. Key Responsibilities: - Lead Snowflake implementation, including data modeling, warehouse design, and performance tuning. - Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and UDFs for high efficiency. - Implement Snowflake best practices such as clustering, partitioning, and zero-copy cloning. - Manage virtual warehouses, resource monitors, and cost optimization. - Design and deploy ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake, Snowpark, Coalesce. - Integrate Snowflake with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), APIs, and external data sources. - Implement real-time and batch data ingestion (CDC, streaming, Snowpipe). - Lead a team of data engineers, analysts, and developers in Snowflake projects. - Conduct code reviews, performance tuning sessions, and technical training. - Configure RBAC, data masking, encryption, and row-level security in Snowflake. - Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC2 standards. - Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting. - Deploy Snowflake in AWS, Azure. - Automate CI/CD pipelines for Snowflake using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps. - Monitor and troubleshoot Snowflake environments using logging tools (Datadog, Splunk). Qualification Required: - 10+ years in data engineering, cloud platforms, or database technologies. - 5+ years of hands-on Snowflake development & administration. - Expertise in Snowflake, Databricks, DBT, SQL, Python for data processing. - Experience with Snowflake features (Snowpark, Streams & Tasks, Time Travel). - Knowledge of cloud data storage (S3, Blob) and data orchestration (Airflow, DBT). - Certifications: Snowflake SnowPro Core/Advanced.
